11th April 2007 You've been Googled! The good mood continues in Burbville-ston. Grass is being mown all around with neat and tidy lawns losing their
scruffy winter coat, Karcher pressure hoses are buzzing all around the estate lifting mildew and algae from drives and pathways,
DIY enthusiasts are attaching new tools to their utility belts - one of my neighbours looks like a mix between Batman and
an extra from 'Cops' - and decks are being erected faster than the new school is being finished.
To continue the good news, the CC website has been Googled at long last - it's like winning a BAFTA - "...and the winner
of the Google search string for 'Robroyston Community Council' is .....Robroyston Community Council!" Try it..we're
first!
And with this recent good weather the 'Kids of Burbville' are out and about and the footballs, frisbees, scooters and
rugby balls are flying....mostly into my flowerbeds...but do I care? The sun is out and I am just happy to see them out
playing....whaddya mean you've trampled my lavender, d'youknowhowmuchthatcost!!!
All this good news almost makes you forget there is an election going on for the Scottish parlez-a-moment. The
Greens are promising the earth, the Brown is promising taxis for all (I think that's what he means?), the Blues are soulful
and the yellers are shouting out policies to whoever will listen. But seriously....Please don't waste your opportunity
to make yourself heard on polling day.
From the mouth of the best social commentator there ever was...Rab C Nesbitt...."I will tell ye this! nivver mind
yer moanin aboot i' all..get yersel oot there and vote...it's the wan time yer a' equal an ye git yer say!, so there....Mary
Doll, whaurs ma pollin card?...whit d'you mean we've been cut aff, ye cannae get cut aff o' voting....the Bar-L is it????
I will tell them this!"
