We had joy we had glow but there's no seasons for the snow!In my old age I get to waking up during the night for a wee nature break but before returning to bed my young thoughts return
and I peek out the bedroom curtains......'maybe it's snowing!'.......and each night....bah humbug.....no snow!
I blame the parents, my parents and yours too....they had us grow up in an age where seasons were dependable and winter
meant snow, summer meant sun, autumn meant conkers and spring meant lambs...halcyon days indeed.
Maybe you don't
like the snow but I love it...not long after moving to this house we had a deep flurry which engulfed all the drab signs of
winter...lovely jubbly. But now...snow falls quickly and turns to slush before you can say 'where's my wellies!'
and all that's left are dirty roads and a wife mopping round my shoes as soon as they hit the laminate floor!
Since when was snow meant to be depressing, it's white for a reason!
I know that nowadays we are not used to
it, but wouldn't it be nice to be able to disrupt traffic and rail travel, close schools and take the day off work for
a semblance of a reason..............BRING IT ON FROSTY, DO YOUR WORST!!!! I'll be the one having a snowball
fight with my neighbours and seeing how big a snowball I can roll down the nearest brae ;) Maybe I am looking back with
fond memories but seeing folk playing in the snow and parents pulling kids wrapped up like bags of loft insulation behind
them on a toboggan makes me feel good...how about you?
